Both mom and dad like to keep shit. They have a few things from their parents and stuff. Most of it isn’t shit that’s bad or anything. It’s just old and we don’t really care about keeping it. Really we’ll probably try and sale most of it.

Yours sounds better than my situation. My mom and stepdad are organized-ish hoarders and it is made worse by them keeping things from their own parents and grandparents and not giving anything up. I've basically already told them I'm at max capacity of taking any more stuff. My grandfather for example was an amazing artist and I have a lot of his work, but I only have so many walls and I don't need to turn my house into a gallery of his work. I also have 2 other sisters who should be taking their fair share but don't.

I'm the youngest and get dumped on. The only exception I'll make is for the persian rugs my mother has, but even with those I'd rather see them sell them than hand them over to us kids.

I've put my foot down more recently and reminded them that they have other children and just because none of us want it doesn't mean that they should keep it either.

Uhhh besides the art stuff I think we are more simmer than you may think. My dad has probably 2500 to 3k CDs all boxed up and he hardly listens to any of them anymore. He also has enough old records that I could probably fill my truck up( bed and the cab) he hasn’t even touched the things in 10 years. He has some chair/rocker that’s from his grandparents that hasn’t even been moved in the shed for 10+ years. My mom had( it’s set up in spare room now) but the crib that she used when we where kids. Like why in the actual fuck has she keep this shit packed away not being used for 25+ years?( since I got out of it) It’s set up now for my brothers kid.

I actually thought about doing the same. Instead I've logged in and just left myself to be on away all morning. My boss is pushing my patience.

Yikes. It's cause they have dreams of you and your siblings wanting it for your own children. My stepmom was the same way and I wasn't aware but for years she was holding onto my half siblings crib and baby clothes hoping that I'd have a kid. Thankfully my stepmom and dad are the total opposite and hold onto nothing. My stepmom frequently spring cleans and it's such a relief to have one side of parents to not worry about.
