Yeah, in the middle of March. That was an unusual time for such a storm. Let's hope this March comes in like a lamb and goes out like one too. Except Phil kind of said otherwise, that handsome groundhog.

Fantastic! Congratulations to all. Sharing a birthday with a grandchild, that's cool.

    I remember that one:

I plowed the little side road I live on before bed, woke up to 17" of new snow -- about the limit for a stock XJ Cherokee with good snow tires and heavy foot with a down hill run. Got down to the main (dirt) road and discovered it hadn't been touched, the snow was over my headlights --- and I was good and stuck too...

Ticked me off as it was the first time I was late to work in 21 years.

Drive over the mountain was successful! It was a nasty snowy/slushy mess but not once did I feel the need for 4wd. Snow drifts were everywhere and surprisingly only one car off in a ditch on the side of US 30 East.

The downside is my truck's a friggin' mess! :annoyed:Not as bad as some, but I hate a dirty truck! Dirtier than it looks.

Update: Needed 4lo to get up my driveway. The ice from last storm never went away, so it's snow with ice under. I may need to have someone come plow.

I measured 25" on the porch but the wind was wicked so we had higher drifts. Local snowfall totals are 21" to 28" from the hobby folks.

Our 28" Honda snowblower was being buried so I had to keep backing up to let the stuff fall and then go forward. It's a great machine, super efficient; I can run it for hours on a single tankful. I have never, ever, used a full tank of gas in this blower to complete the job -- until today. Tank and a half.

Just looked at temperature forecasts for next week.

    I'm over this winter.

I’m surprised at how many snow haters there are in PA. Get out there and enjoy it like when you were kids, unless physical limitations or health conditions prevent it. Life is short, so try to enjoy every aspect of it as best as you can. That’s the way I look at it anyway.

I am not necessarily a snow hater, but the older I get, the less I enjoy driving in it. My bones also feel every cold chill that they did not feel when I was younger. I walk every day but it is a real chore at times, up and down the hills around here. And every time it snows, the Fed Ex or Amazon delivery person can't get my items to me on my rural road. It happened again last night and the roads weren't that bad.

    The dose makes the poison.

I've had 2 storms of nearly 2 feet of snow. Enough.

That kind of snowfall does make it difficult to get around, especially if you have to work - let alone work outside, or get to an important appointment, like a doctor's.
