So another dumb question I’m sure you smart folks can help me out with. Am I correct in assuming my 2020 trd pro don’t have remote start? I pushed the buttons on the fob where I read it said to push and it just honks. I would assumed a dang pro had remote start on it as standard equipment.

I think you have to have the remote connect subscription for it to work. What button are you pushing for the horn to honk? It should be hit the lock button 3 times and holding the button on the third press. It took me a bit to get the timing down. Too fast or too slow and it doesn’t want to work.

It works on my Pro. Is your remote connect service still active? The Fob start is supposed to work after the initial subscription expires but many people have indicated theirs no longer works.

You must download the Toyota app and set it up. My salesman set me up. Works great and is a nice feature but, too expensive to keep in my opinion. Also, I think you can push the button in the truck and they can set you up. Not 100% sure about that.

No I haven’t downloaded any app or did any subscription. That’s the first I’ve heard about that. So you have to pay monthly to have remote start? Am I reading that right?

No no monthly cost. It’s all free with purchase for a year thereafter you pay to keep it.

FYI, apparently these have been ending with the termination of the subscriptions. This leads a lot of people to just install an aftermarket remote start such as the one by N2 Designs.
