First thing to remember is that you will be towing in 4th.
When I went with the 265/75/16 which were a bit larger than my stock my truck felt sluggish without towing. However, if driving in 4th it was less so, changing to D/5th when on the interstate.

I did my tire upgrade before I knew I would be towing... when I decided I would be towing I got it regeared. Not necessarily one of my better ideas, but it is not sluggish... though it is at higher rpms on the highway.

Towing will generally knock off about 5-10 mpg vs not towing. For me towing 3500# average 11-13'ish, not towing same basic speed 18-20'ish.

I currently drive with 238/85/16 which are the same basic diameter of the 265/75/16, but about an inch narrower. Same model tire and about 8# lighter, though I haven't really noted a mpg difference of any significance. Both the 265/75/16 and the 235/85/16's are Cooper Discover AT3 load E. Very happy with them. A guy on TW did a review on them and noted that the C loads seem to wear out more quickly. Got 60k miles on first set and after 40k on this set expect to get about the same... and about 1/3-1/2 of that mileage is towing.
