    Hi guys,
OK, read this first before you jump to the conclusion that I messed something up. This past week I installed a Viper 5901 on the truck. Everything works great thanks to alot of threads on here. Anyways, I noticed that whenever I use the remote start to start the truck the airbag light will come on and stay on. If I get in, put the key in the ignition, and drive it will stay on. But when I start it normally, the light comes on like normal in the beginning then shuts off.
I checked for codes in the computer with my father's Verus and it had three codes in it, all history codes, from the occupancy detection function, which was triggered when I removed the seats. Anyways, I cleared them and it still does it. Has this happened to anyone? Is it something I did or something random. Any help is appreciated. Just wanted to see if this is common. Thanks :D

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
I don't have a Viper alarm but I do have a Clifford (both made by DEI)...when I start my truck via fob the airbag light it on until my key is in the ignition and on the on position.

Sounds like to me that you have an Ignition wire powered up as an Accessory, or vice versa. Or posssibly one of the two starter wires not powered, but not sure if it would even crank then though...

I have the same problem on my 2010 and I double checked the wires and according to my diagram and wire color code they are right. Any idea what wires I may have backwards? I show the Acc/Heater wires to be white/green?

I installed a clifford 3.5x with remote start. My airbag light is NOT on during remote start.

Something is wired wrong. (Clifford, Vipor and Python are all DEI, for clarification)

ok, my thinking......... the trucks computer is thinking that there is noone in the seat but the truck is indeed starting, so there must be a sensor malfunctioning. there may be some sort of programming needing to be done to the alarm. i would contact DEI to find out......

tech support # should be in manual.

Ahh but also the heat/AC does not function until the key is turned on. That is why I think I have two wires wrong or backwards??

Has anyone figured out this issue? I have the same exact problem. My Viper Remote starter was perfect for about a year until recently, when I use the remote start the air does not turn on until I put the key in and the airbag light will stay on. Yes the heat/air is on - manual heat/AC - no climate control or any of that. If I start with the key and not the remote the airbag light does not stay on.

I have put in Racesport gen3 leds I'm the process of doing a custom audio overhaul which will include Hybrid audio unity 6x9 mid bass, unity 3 inch mid driver in the dash and fiberglassing tweets in pilar soundeading all the doors, floors, and headliner and I will be using a helix processor to retain the factory radio and as far as subs I might make custom brackets to move rear seat foward a few inches to get a full size sub in there or I might just go with a pair of jl tw5 or tw3 and it will all be powered by jl audio HD amps or I might try out the new hybrid amps
You can call del but they are going to Direct you to your local dealer since they can only be installed by authorized dealers and over the counter selling of dei is technically prohibited
