Exterior Lighting for Truck Camping

Hi all,
I often camp out of my truck and have been looking for some lights I can run at night when I might be cooking or just to illuminate somewhat around the truck. I've seen some people using small light bars but I'm really looking for something a little more low-key. Maybe amber colored too? Any ideas? Would love some feedback.

 

Tons of led light strips out there.

They’re used for canopy lighting etc...

 

Low key would be some rope lights. Just enough light to not hit things.

That is a hard call to make and pictures don`t really give you a good idea.

You almost need to see them in person one tends to end up with a few before finding something you like.

One persons low key is the next persons flood lights.

got one for $5 and have had it for years.

there’s tons of peeps who make a solar powered lantern, including GoalZero, for cheap.

the reason we like it is the ability to have it separate from our electrical system. We just leave it in the dash to charge while we drive and use it at night. Nice soft glow.

 

Might or might not be worth the hassle to install on your truck, but my campers blue rock lights are my favorite for working and cooking around camp. They throw light on the ground, not up into your face. Therefore they don't kill your night vision. I only use the overhead bar for prepping food or other tasks where Im working over the table. A good headlamp would serve just as well.

If I were you, get colored rope lights, wrap them shin height and call it good.
