For your needs it sounds like the limited is a perfect choice!

Toyota makes different models because we all have different wants. Do your research on each model and get what pleases you.

So I'm not well informed about this sort of stuff.... but what are the benefits of having the larger wheels that are on the Limited? Better ride quality?

FWIW, I own a 2016 Limited because that year the Limited model was the only way to get leather seating, so the choice was easy.

Smoother ride on the road, but not as nimble on the rocks (OR models have 16" wheels).

Sport has a pretty stiff stock suspension, limited has a more plush ride. Other than the hickory interior in the limited, they are pretty much the same trucks.

It would have a harsher ride on the road due to less rubber on the sidewall, but it would handle turns better.

That said - I LOVE how my DCLB OR is on highway - so smooth

Sport has a stiffer suspension for on road handling. If, the tire side wall profile is the same, larger diameter wheels on rolling bumps provide a better ride over a smaller diameter. Lower profile tires on any rim = you'll feel every crack or tar strip which I feel is annoying !

Correct, the outside diameter of the tires is the same, so the larger wheel has less tire sidewall.

    Stock and staying that way
The ride is more quiet and I believe the truck will get better fuel economy with the Michelin’s than the tires offered on other trims.
