So is there a walk thru on how to pull stock file off ecm, then send it off to JustDSM and also how to put new tune file on?

Looking to buy the HP tuners and 4 credits, I'm just a bit clueless when it comes to computer stuff.

Just bought a Lenovo X1 carbon to do this, which I think should be fine enough for a computer, based off requirements on HP tuners site.

You don't need a hot PC to do this at all. Just make sure the battery ain't gonna fall out..

Yeah that’s what I came to find out. However, I found a way to use a resistor along with cutting off the male end of the air bag wire from the seat to trick the computer.

Yes sir, that's been the standard method to get the ABS ECU off your back.. What resistance is needed out of curiosity?

Damn. Just read the @JustDSM FAQ list. Moderators need to sticky that ASAP. I probably should have read it before I inundated him with a barrage of noob questions . I just uploaded a file from him and it's awesome, even though I couldn't unleash the fury completely (breaking in new gears), I immediately noticed the rev hang went away and it's much easier to shift into the next gear. Thank you Justin, you are one of the heroes of this world.

Can you link to the list? I Have loads of questions and would rather not bother people with all of them. Rev hang is my main concern.

Apologize for the delay getting back to you, I never did get a notification of a reply to this thread or the tag. Odd..

Anyhow, I'd be more than happy to assist if you haven't already got yourself sorted.

So. The Optimum Torque and Trans Optimum torque tables are DEFINITELY the cause of wacky shifting and gear hangs. I switched back to stock tables with the same tune and the truck shifts way smoother, when expected as laid out in the trans tune i have set, and doesnt seem to hang anywhere like it did before.

I tried to translate the optimum torque table (which had been raised to deal with torque management) to the trans optimum torque table and it might of made things a smidge better but hangs still persisted as well as some wacky shifts and consistently inconsistent shift points.

As far as i know @JustDSM doesnt have an auto to play with and do testing unfortunately. @OVTune care to shed any light on dealing with the Optimum Torque table to get rid of torque management and how to translate that to the Trans table to make it to where shifting occurs when and how its expected?

I don't know how HPTuners has their table configurations, but we will provide table information, and patches for the TCU when we release 4.0 support in our calibration software.

Oh dang! Now that was one hell of a quick response.

The one day i dont bring my tuning laptop to work to get pics haha. Optimum torque has torque values in cells based on RPM and Load, Optimum trans torque has torque value based on RPM and Throttle blade angle. in HPTuners.

So far I've really enjoyed your trans tune that Justin included in my tune, but the 4-5 gear hang would be awesome to eliminate! I have an mpvi2, let me know if I could help in any way.

If you want to get rid of the hang, just revert the Optimum Engine and Optimum Trans tables back to the stock values.

If you want you can PM me and we can go from there.
