    There was a vote the other day for a 3% resort tax in the neighboring town that thankfully failed. Montana has no sales tax so talk of a resort tax had everyone super pissed off since it's where most of the larger stores are.

    yeah fuck that. We pay the tax once when you buy something recreational(car, boat, motorcycle) yearly taxes are only on your properties(house and land) and annual income

    We pay yearly on cars, boats, land, home....luckily I live in a state with a relatively low tax rate and our gas prices are typically low as well; the personal property taxes suck but other states have it much worse. Illinois for example

    Yeah thats what I find weird as well. the land and home seems normal but cars and boats yearly doesnt make sense to me.

    Yeah, in PA we pay 8% sales tax when purchasing a car, motorcycle, etc.
    If I had to pay an annual tax on top of that I would be one salty dude.
