Hi, Im trying to troubleshoot my rear pass window not working. Or working intermittently. It started probably within the last 4 months or so. Sometimes the switch on the door works sometimes it doesnt, sometimes the master (driver) switch works sometimes it doesnt. There is really no rhyme or reason to it. I would say the switch on the rear door works more than the master switch does though. I have taken apart the master switch and I sprayed it with electrical cleaner, didnt notice any corrosion on the switch. The master switch will operate the other windows no problem. If anyone has any ideas on what to test I have a meter just need a little guidance. I called and priced out a new master switch from the local dealer and they want $450. Thank you for the help.

The master and door switches are wired in series so both have to be good for a window to work. The rear door switches are the same. Swap them side to side to determine if it's a rear door switch problem. If you have a dog the drools on the rear switches, there's your problem.

I would also look into the "umbilical" or whatever its called that contains all the wires running between the body of the truck and the door. Not unheard of for wires to fatigue and break inside there after lots of open/close cycles

Do like @Muddinfun said, it takes both switches for the window motor to work. (Ground side)
IIRC the only thing that doesn’t require both switches is the power feed for the rear switches.
Which is highly unlikely to be your problem. (Almost not at all since both switches don’t work)

If you don’t have a drooling dog, I’m going to go with the master switch.
Only because in all probably it is a switch, and Muddin’ has unofficial picked the rear switches.
