Someone left some of these in my boat cooler this summer, I kept them thinking, "I'll have a basic bitch in my house at some point" but they still remain untouched.

I've had a few, they were decent but not something I could drink a lot of. I could have like, 2 or 3 but would switch to whisky (albeit peachy....) or bud lights or something after that.

Ford still had the diagrams in the closet from when they were designing the Freelander, and just put them through the wash for the new Bronco Sport.

Yeah I seen that setup with it hidden in the CC. Then adding a external speaker on the A pillar on the drivers side just above the seatbelt.

Yup. That's what I like about the uniden and the cobras, the speaker and mic is in the same thing and the brain is elsewhere. I only need it for wheeling and shenanigans, not a real deal thing. I know how to set up a real deal setup but I just don't need that, so I need to keep my budget  I'm leaning toward the Uniden over the Cobra at least for my wants and setup. Might even be able to set it up under the driver seat.

I'll put together my BOM and probably order it this weekend.

Check out our old iron on the trailer. That 440 Kawi was actually pretty fast.

I actually love the old Bronco II's. My uncle had one for years, 5 speed 6 cylinder 4x4, and traded it in shortly before I got my driver's license even though I'd told him for years that I wanted it when he was ready to be done with it. It only had like 70k on it because he traveled (globally) a lot for work and would park it for months at a time, and had spent most of its life garaged in VA so it was rust-free.

Just as well, though, because with how I drove in high school it probably would only have been a matter of time before I rolled it.

Short wheelbase and tippy , not a high speed cornering vehicle. Squeezed on to a lot of tote roads with it though.

Another one I have been looking at and almost forgot about is the Midland 75822 that can be converted to hand held (with detachable battery pack). Good price too with really good reviews. > https://www.amazon.com/Midland-75-822-Channel-CB-Way-Radio/dp/B00000K2YR

Love that you can detach it and use at as a handheld. I think I may end up going with this one.

Per the Wikipedia article I actually read last week, with the source linked below, 1 in 500 Bronco IIs rolled over.

    https://www.autoblog.com/2010/09/07/ford-explorer-rollover-settlement/?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly9lbi5tLndpa2lwZWRpYS5vcmcv&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAEFOIywWIKDquSYcFFsPqYVO9g_FUBOygGmS3YveKsA3Gt8HCcozzkjXI6cygwjqylplXO2a9PlFAlyCyLN1i0Z0z1myf2hBZFKxxFpfDtTMl5bxmKAjE59_W3nZ0I0TxDjlB0MmrC9MHbtlLHoop6zRe64ygMyWaGMldqnyrftg

If Internet forums were around in the 1980s, I could only imagine the forum posts.

I have seen that one too. I’m still completely undecided. I think the only thing I have decided on is that I won’t have a 102” whip. I want one and I’m sure for the road trips it would be great but I’ll probably end up with a 3ft good enough. And I am mounting it off the back of the bed. Otherwise everything is still completely up in the air and I have no clue what I’m doing. Makes things fun.

$300-400. I don’t need anything crazy. If this had a little more meat in the speaker section (60-65 RMS) it would be ideal.

    https://www.crutchfield.com/S-KLFxwVOVSnV/p_020XC2510/Clarion-XC2510.html

I have the ubiquitous Kicker CS front and rear speakers and Subaru/Kicker tweeters. Power handling on the front is 150 RMS, rear is 100 RMS, but my understating is the limits of OEM wiring is about 80 RMS.

I like that the Clarion is marine rated and small so it fits under the driver seat. I don’t anticipate going the LOC route as I can do speaker level inputs with the harness I have. I’m keeping the stock HU.

I’m not sold exclusively on that unit, but it has most of what I’d want out of an amp including only needing a 8 gauge power cable as I can retain my powered sub’s power line and not figure out where to route a 4AWG cable through my firewall.

Speaking of sound anyone done the Subaru tweeter upgrade? Wondering if it’s really worth it.
