Hello I am new to the forum and I guess you can say new to the Tacoma scene . I purchased my 07 Toyota Tacoma Trd sport 4wd 140k miles about a year ago .
    Mods:
-6” rough country vertex coilovers front , adjust shocks in rear
    -SPC light racing UCA
    -20*12 fuel Mavericks
    -33*12.50*20 federal mt
Saying that I recently noticed a high pitched whining noise when reaching 35mph and above . The more I accelerate the louder it gets. Here is a video of the exact noise and of my truck TIA!

    I don’t see a video.
Where do you think the sound is coming from?
    Front or back of truck?

Oh, and its probably coming from the front left. Needle bearing. ECGS sells what you need to swap it.

Does the sound change when you let off the gas, and let it coast?

Anyone looking for the 1st Gen Install and Removal tool for the needle bearing job, I just finished with them. Split the cost say 40$. Willing to discuss. Location Boise Idaho for shipping purposes.

Yess when I let off gas it goes away , but as soon as I step on gas whining noise comes back on . I’ve checked my drive shaft and everything seems to be good . Center carrier bearing has some movement but nothing that should be concerning

Well couldn't be gears. So I'm pretty certain on my needle bearing call!

Always the first step in this type of troubleshooting. If you take her to the dealer they will even tell you that it is just normal for that model.

Good question. Try taking it for a spin without the wife in the truck and see if the noise goes away
