Tried the sham wow.. Didn't like it... Scratched vehicles before with the squeegee...
Our water is super hard and not a mineral that typical water spot remover can touch.. lot of acid washing round here.

I use a beach towel or those car drying towels you get at costco in that car wash kit. Whatever is clean at the time.

My sis worked at a Hilton(?) and took home a bunch of throwaway cotton terry cloth shower towels.

Had a absorber when they first came out,,scratched the crap out of my paint,,that got thrown right in the trash.

Now I just towel it off after using Turtle wax Platinum car wash.

Update!! Washed the truck yesterday and thought what the helll...I'll give the hood the clay bar treatment (picked up the Mother's kit half price.) I had never even heard about the clay bar until reading about it here on TW. Long story short I'm totally amazed!! The hood looks brand new...4 years of acid rain/hard rain spots etched into the paint is completly gone...I'm a believer!!! Thankyou Tacoma World! :)

I get free washes at the dealer I bought it from but I don't think I will be using them too often since I don't trust some 18 year old taking care of my truck. Especially after getting a "umhumm" response from the service department after asking a question and saying thank you...I know service has gone downhill in a lot of places but sheesh

I have used the shammy but im going to look into this california blade

The absorber is really in the lead? By a lot too. I think a lot of the people that "air dry" dont care as much so they probably arent looking into forums to find the best way to dry their truck. Anyway I do the towel dry but I am surprised that more didn't vote for air dry

Mr. Clean Auto Dry Car Wash. I've been buying as many water filters and liquid soap I can find on EBAY because this unit is the best thing since sliced bread. It dries in the sun streak free. For some reason it was discontinued.

i have a few of these - the microfiber is of a high quality so it will not induce scratches to your finish, and they suck up A LOT of water. wring out and go again.

they are also ideal because you can apply products like optimum spray wax or optimum instant detailer while drying.

i also use my air compressor nozzle to blast water out from certain areas to it will not come out when i'm sealing the finish or run down and spot.

an electric leaf blower is a great idea. many skilled detailers use such a thing.

    look into optimum no-rinse.

I use gas powered leaf blower as well, works great. Especially on cracks like people have mentioned, but also on the windows, streak free! Then leave the rest to a towel or whatever.

gas blowers are not recommended because they blow exhaust through, and that exhaust, esp 2-stroke exhaust, has oil and contaminants in it, which then get on your finish. electric blowers are preferred.

but to each his own, whatever works for you.

Works well as long as you've scrubbed your truck because if you just you a pressure washer the little bits of micro dirt and what not, build up as you pull the the water off an will leave black streak lines down your vehicle (which come off with a towel and like elbow grease)

So as long as you totally clean your truck they work great!
