So for my birthday last year I shopped around and landed on an Orca cooler to be my primary cold food storage for weekend trips. I’m working on building out a slide for the cooler in the bed of my truck but I wanted to plumb in a drain so I didn’t have to remove the cooler to drain the excess water, should be simple I figured. So I reached out to Orca asking for their thread geometry so I could 3D print a plug with a barb fitting. They said it’s proprietary, I said I can sign an NDA and give them my design when finished, they said they don’t share confidential information. Holy smokes it’s just a drain plug... Anyways I’ll be reverse engineering it and publishing the model for everyone to use. Some of these guys either missed the mark with who their market is, or they can’t get out of their own way. Email attached...

    This gets my vote.

Or the person responding doesn't know what a thread is. So 'proprietary' becomes a fast answer.

Almost done, printing a sample and then I'll upload.Designed to bottom out 180 degrees opposing depending upon thread start in the cooler.

If you can even consider this chunky thing a thread lol. I don't think they realize I was going to make this part either way, just if they wanted to help or not...

That’s an awesome idea, and fuck those guys. That’s a ridiculous response. Good work.
