I've been wanting to do a 2 inch lift on the front and 1 on the back to level out. Except I don't have $5,000 laying around right now. My neighbor suggested I get spacers, but I've been reading up about them and can't figure out if they're bad or not. Any opinions on that?

Spacers aren't bad, but won't ride like an expensive suspension of course. The main thing to understand is that your truck lifted without a change in travel, and your bumpstop didn't move. If you "bottom out" the suspension really hard, then the bump stop might not be at the proper height to prevent your shocks from taking the hit.

Also you can find a decent suspension with Dobinsons for around $1000 (at least for 4runners, not sure how leaf springs affect price). Still spendy, but not $5k

It will be mainly for looks and nothing else. My biggest concern was obviously safety and durability. It's a brand new truck so I didn't want it damaging any factory parts or causing future trouble with parts that may cost me a fortune to fix in the future.
