Sorry for not looking through the 50 pages of the OP. Did anyone install this on a 2nd Gen Tacoma 2013?? Does it work fine?

Been awhile since I posted here.

But worth mentioning. I am totally wiped out of my T-Harnesses. So only option still available is the universal option.

    However.

I am working on a full rock light harness with a t-harness off of the Cab Light Switch. The cab light has the same courtesy ground, without the PWM. It will be fully plug n play with the cab light as the switch. There will be an add on harness to run the rock lights independently off of a separate switch. But the harness will be nice, set up for 8 rock lights. No need to build a harness on your own. And the courtesy light mode will be there. Looking to more than just an adder to an existing setup, but also offer the whole thing PNP.

I think probably another month or so before I have the first batch released. Here's a preview for now. These diagrams are still a work in progress but will give you an idea. Can't decide if I will just add on to this existing thread or create a new one. Will figure that out in the coming weeks.

Saw the suggested wiring of the V4 module and a Switch Pros 9100.

I'd like to run my rock lights directly off the switch pros as it's designed (rather than a relay). Can I connect the yellow DSIM wire to the Pink Trigger 1 wire of the Switch Pros in order to get a dome light switched trigger? It looks like I'd have to setup whichever switch to be "battery controlled" per the Switch Pros manual.

    Any reason this wouldn't work?

This would also give the option of switching whatever else (I think up to 4 inputs) off the domes.

    Thanks!

    Hey folks,

Sorry been hard at work on this next mod.

To post an update. I have got the prototypes in and installed in my truck. All seems to be working well. I am doing one more test install on a long bed tacoma over the next week or so to confirm the wire lengths. I'll use that time to edit up a video install instruction. Once confirmed on long bed I'll have the first batch start production. Also the pcb boards for the relay module (required for the switch harness / ch4x4 switch) should be in this week and I'll need to model up an enclosure for that. Also need to update the website. So still more steps but getting closer.

I think I am still a few more weeks out for the first batch. I'll likely create a new thread on it as it is a different product so keep an eye out for that, will post a link when it is up. After the first batch is released depending on how quickly they go I'll put in a larger order for a second round of harnesses!

    Here's some photos.

Looks well done, any targeted price range?

I think I am shooting for $150 for basic harness. $25 adder ($175) for the variant with the switch harness (CH4x4 / SwitchPro). I think that's a good price point, but TBD though, need to do some number crunching.

So the only thing left to buy past that point is the lights. Which the ones I run I buy from Amazon are $30 ish for a set of four ($60 for the full 8). I am probably later down the line going to offer a kit with the lights included as I can get a price break on buying them in bulk and using them in the kits. Just to make it easier on folks.

That sounds like a good price target for plug and play. I could do all this work myself but getting all the connectors and doing it right I think you've got a good plan.

I have been told that new rock lights may hit the market this year from Diode Dynamics and possibly one other manufacturer. I'm semi waiting to see those before deciding which lights I plan to purchase for myself. The Amazon el cheapos are definitely on the list of possibilities, they are almost disposable at that cost.

Also, one suggestion if you plan to do more T harnesses. A 5 pin JST connector would make a ton of sense, adding in a feed for dimmed illumination -. I'm mid-flight on modifying mine to feed a single 5 pin JST, then a pigtail to get that down to the kick and into a 6 pin with an additional common ground lead, thus giving all of the possible feeds for signals. The 5 pin to 4 pin adaptor would be super straightforward (to interface with MESO puddles) but really his puddle switch should be fed from a 6 pin or 4 + 2 which is how I am wiring mine.

Dimming is cool but I'm not a big fan of other lighting using the 'gauge dimmer', I tend to keep my gauges super dim, but I like whatever other lighting brighter.

For switch illumination only. That's the point.

so if i'm reading this correctly the diode is to block ground coming back from the dsim into the t harness. I will try this out this weekend! thanks for the update!

Where did you get your diodes? I'm doing this in the spring and just collecting parts right now.
