Trails near RVA

I am relatively new to the area and offroading in general. Was wondering if there are any trails in the area or toyota social clubs! Just picked up my truck and I am dying to make her work for that monthly payment. Any info would be great, thank you.

 

How far away are you from the Charlottesville / Lynchburg area? 100's of great trails off the Blue Ridge Parkway. I head up there several times a month, always something new to discover. Let me know, I'd be happy to run Shoe Creek with you.

 

If you can keep up with the Northern Virginia Roll Call page we go on trail rides/camping fairly often. I’ve found/shared a few good spots on there. It says NOVA but there are guys from Richmond, West Va and Hawaii. My favorite day trip is to Blakey Mt near Madison. Post a video with detailed information (at the end) here.

 

Yeah you are about 2 hrs away, that sounds awesome man. I looked shoe creek up and it looks beginner worthy!

Yup. Throw it up in here or across a few of the other threads (RVA, NOVA and so on). Some one will almost always bite at it.

 

Damn you do Blakey Ridge and you’re right in my neighborhood. @caffeinated_medic runs it quite a bit he’s just down the road from me

I’ve been eye balling your truck (from rt 3) for the past 2 or so years. I live back behind the Walmart and have a few acres in Culpeper so I see it all the time haha. My wife and I ride Blakey/shoot in Culpeper so we’ll have to get together and go do one of those 2 things. Maybe @Hafaday will join so I can finally give him back his compressor! Hah

I'm a little confused how you see my truck from route 3? I live out on the west side of Culpeper and work in Madison at Prince Michel winery and brewery. You may deffinately see it around Culpeper but I don't drive it all the time. Hell with Covid I pretty much just take the back roads to and from work and we dont go anywhere much. It would be nice to meet up sometime and maybe shoot I'm still looking for a good place where i can go when I want to.

Dang.. I thought it was your 2nd gen I see parked at the auto shop, there is another 2nd gen in Culpeper/Orange that could be your twin! Just saw it today at the shop, not sure if the guy works there or is constantly having work done to it. Next time I see it ill take a picture... in only a semi-creepy way and post it online.... The 7 acres is more specifically in rixeyville, its fun to go plink'n with my AR's 22 conversion bolt/pistols but the lay of the land doesn't allow for more than maybe 50/75 yards at most, down hill. I'll shoot you a PM if we plan on going, we normally decide day of but I'll try to give ya a day or twos heads up. This video kinda shows ya the lay of the land.

The guy at the shop on rte 3 is the owners son and he works there. I dropped in to say Hi one day. I live over by Cpep landfill about 10 minutes from Rixeyville. My old truck looks a bit different
