NEW 2ND GEN GRILLE???

Figured id add mine to the thread. I have a 2019 with a pro grill; so i wanted my 2007 to somewhat match. Found one on ebay for $119.00. Showed up packaged pretty good actually. And as stated earlier; the badging arrived separately. I messed around with the mounting a little bit; and i was able to find the sweetspot and it aligns pretty great with the headlights and hood! I also purchased some adhesive weatherstripping from Amazon for $8 because the provided stripping was not great. Off to the paint booth it will go on Monday.! More pics after that

 

Got it back from paint last night. Snapped a quick pic. Wanted to hook my fogs up before i had a chance to take some pics. But i will post more closeups and weatherstipping pics as well. Overall i think it was definitely a win!

Thanks brother. And this grill definitely is a great fit. Id say 9.25/10. It takes a little maneuvering but its great.

Are these ready to paint? Or still need recommend sanding and primer?

 

I brought mine to a paint shop. But in my opinion; if you wanted to apply paint, its got a rough finish that would probably suck up a diy paintjob very easily

How much did it cost to paint the grill at a paint shop and how long does that take?

 

i paid $375 for them to paint the grill and the front bumper (which was the black textured bumper). Which id suspect took alot of the labor. He said the grill was easy to paint. Ive had a similar grill painted in the past and it cost $150. It took 3-4 days (was ready in 3, i Couldnt pick up til next day)

For context, a brand new paint matched grill from toyota is about $300. So for slightly less than that; this grill and professional paint can be had

 

On your original grill, was the original hardware that came with the white “Landcruiser” Toyota logo sufficient enough to attach it to the grill?

I’m not sure which off your grills I like better!

I know you said that the lettering came later, but did you have to get that separately because I don't see anywhere on the link you sent where it says the lettering is included. If you did have to get it separately any way you could please post the link?

 

It was included in the purchase; just shipped in another package to bypass any trademark purchase infringements
