When cranking my 08 tacoma it seems to have a high engine idle, like 1500 rpms or so until it warms up which takes a little while, is this normal?
I no longer let it warm up, I crank it and go pretty much. But does anyone know what rpm it should be upon initial crank?
In gear at a light rpm is 900.
It just seems high on initial start up and run. Rpm doesn't start dropping like I would normally think

This is normal. If your throttle body hasn't been cleaned in a while it will rev higher and longer, but normal.

Yes, high idle on cold start is normal.
Warm idle in gear with AC and Defrost OFF should be closer to 750 rpm.
