Setup a home webcam i can view from work.

Most CCTV viewing software will allow you to throttle down bandwidth, resolution, and Storage duration.

I was using this at my store for a while just to see if I could hear people talking or whatever.. 1 skype account at home has to be setup so it accepts and answers all incoming calls from buddy list..

My buddy has one of these. It's awesome, he can even control it from his phone

 

A buddy of mine bought some cheap wireless cameras off the net 4 years ago and could watch them by typing in their ip address.

They are pretty cheap...here's one that you can pan/tilt for 60 bucks
