First, please forgive me if needs to be posted elsewhere. Don't have 50 posts despite lurking on here since 2017 so can't post on Sale thread yet.

Shortly after getting my '17 TRD Sport AC w/navigation, tech, and tow, we became pregnant with twins- of course! We were able to get some adventures on FS roads/RTT camping/etc but when they arrived, truck has largely been idle in the garage short of runs to hardware store. Going to upgrade to a 4runner before long and would love for this to get some usage. Trade-in doesn't work with our timeline.

Absolutely babied, no food/drink in car, non-smoker, no pets. Has platinum warranty and largely garaged. 7,800 miles (yes, less than 8k, almost embarrassed). If relevant, live just outside Seattle.

Any suggestions on pricing or the ad would be really appreciated. I've posted on CL and got the typical strangeness ("I'll trade you a couple of amps, an ATV, and would pay monthly on the rest...")

    Thanks!

The prices of Tacomas, new and used, have gone a little crazy lately. With your mileage I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s actually worth more now than what you paid for it new.

I would say to cash the warranty in and remove the mods you can and sell it for $30,000 firm and sell the mods . Start it at 32 or 33 and see how it goes . It is a special truck and a great year . Good luck .

Don't even bother with CL, mostly scams on higher priced items, both buyers and sellers.

With your mileage, i wouldn't be surprised if you get 32k for that truck. Brand new will cost you >40k. All it takes is the right buyer. I'd list it for 33k as is, if you dont get any bites maybe part out and sell your mods and list for 30-31

I suggest to have it priced by Carvana and CarMax. There is no obligation to sell to them. Check with KBB/NADA/etc for private sale ranges. That will give you baseline data for your decision making. In my experience, CarMax actually offered a bit higher vs Carvana, but that is probably associated with my location. I tried selling my CT200H on FB and started off in the highest range of private sale estimates. I had one test drive and two low ball offers :) However FB's pricing algorithm kept changing the "suggested" price until it almost matched CarMax's and I eventually traded it in at the dealer - they basically took CarMax's price and matched it. In my location, hybrids aren't very popular hence the weak response. I would just try FB and see what response you get. You can always delete the listing anytime. Again, location is a big variable in pricing. You have 4WD so that increases your prospective buyer base. Good luck with it.

Have thought about that, potentially harder to
in case there was anymore evidence of FB pulling info from everyone everywhere! Great they matched it, especially for a trade-in

Thanks, been thinking about going that route of parting out and at least getting the truck off my insurance and someone actually enjoying it fully. Hoping someone is looking for a nearly plug and play set-up but will go that route soon here. Really appreciate all the feedback, hope y'all won't ban me on here if I only have the 4Runner :)

thanks @Grossomotto, did CL out of longstanding habit and yeah, it hasn't been really productive just yet, plenty of "I'll trade you a broken Suburban and some baseball cards." At least it's interesting? Will check it out, really appreciate everyone chiming in!

Seems expensive to me but there are many variables such as locality, demand and production to consider. June 2020 I bought a new 2020 TRD Sport Premium (Leather & sunroof) double cab with 6MT. I paid $35k USD with a TRD skid plate and Weathertech floor mats. What are others in your area going for?

Probably never a better time to sell. My experience, with private sales, is you need to ask a couple grand less than similar vehicles found online at dealerships. Easy to hear unicorn tales of people getting crazy money in private sales....but that is simply not my experience. Having title in hand makes a private sale smoother, but a lien is not a deal breaker. I once sold my wife's car to a guy that flew in from 3 states away, handed me a certified check and drove off trusting that I would send the title in a week or so......which I did but not sure I would have been as trusting.

If you read the forums every buys for 10k off sticker and sells for 10k above what they paid and make money.

3rd gen's are always above 30k... So why not start at 33 and see what biters you get. Most people in that price range need financing. That's the biggest issue. And if they do not, they would likely walk into a dealership and buy new for same as used at the moment.

    That said...
Carvana takes 2 min to get a quote
Carmax takes 30min to get a quote
And you have a really good gauge on the market.

I would try the above 2, and list for 2-3k above their offer on CRAIGSLIST. Then call it a day.

That's right, and my wife is Morgan Fairchild.........yea, that's right! (might have to be an old school fan, when SNL was actually funny, to get the joke)
