I’m regearing to 5.29 today. Truck is in the shop as we speak. I’m about to do a 3” suspension king lift in the front and deaver 700-1000lb expadition 3 pack in the rear. With all of that would you recomend 33’s or 34’s. I’ve got a Yakama rack,Batwing awning and a Roofnest Falcon tent so not a ton of weight.

It’s my daily driver so I’m concerned about tred ware. That’s why I’m looking at 33’s or 34’s. I don’t have a ton of weight in the back about 300lbs with the rack and tent. I’m in Sacramento California so I’m 2-3 hours from snow, sand, and mountains.

Why you gearing so high? But anyway with such a drastic gear fit the tallest you can under there especially since it's a DD. We don't even gear that high in Land Cruisers unless people run 37's or 40's

I know people really like the 5.29s on smaller tires on 3rd gens, but I have them on 35s and they're right at the threshold for 5.29s being too short. I would vote for 34s or the 35x10.50 Kenda Klever RTs.

Thread wear shouldn't be a problem. Honestly you should just stick with 33's for better gas mileage on 5.29

I've re geared to 4.88 and went with 33's myself.

On the 3rd gens they run at high rpms. I’m putting body armor and a camper shell on as well. That’s why I went with 5.29z

Yes it’s an automatic. I did see where larger tires helps when crawling or in sand/snow.
