Ive been thinking of putting 285/75/17s on my 4cyl 4x4 manual after i install my lift but ive heard that people lose tourqe when putting 35s on a 4cyl, i know 285/75/17s r technically a 34" so im wondering if i should just go with 285/70/17s instread or if i can bumps up to that height?

you lose power for everything over stock. youll lose power with a 32, more with a 33, and even more with a 34, and TONS with a 35. its just the truth. Youll need to regear

I’ve ran 33’s & 34’s on multiple Tacoma 4wd 2.7’s with manuals & autos. I live in a very flat area, the power loss is quite notable, but could live with it. The auto had more trouble than the manual.

If I lived is a mountainous or hilly area, I don’t think I would do it again. Currently have a new V6 4WD and opted for 32’s this time. The 33’s & 34’s looked better, but with my 32’s, it will still get up and go. Also, consider the tire and wheel weight, the lower the better.

I have the same question. I’m regearing to 5.29 today. Truck is in the shop as we speak. I’m about to do a 3” suspension king lift in the front and deaver 700-1000lb expadition 3 pack in the rear. With all of that would you recomend 33’s or 34’s. I’ve got a Yakama rack,Batwing awning and a Roofnest Falcon tent so not a ton of weight.

in my opinion id go with 33s fo minimal trimming cause it looks like u got a nice 3rd gen there and u dont wanna cut ur fenders off if u dont have too

When they do the suspension lift they with 3” kings they are doing a front cab mount relocation for max clearance. Will it still rub with 33s or 35s

33s wont but im not too sure about 35s, ik with a 2nd gen if u go up to 35s u have the trim the front fneder and liner unless you have a high clearance bumper but im not sure for a 3rd gen but if ur considering going with 34s over 33s, just go to 35s at that point!
