My 2012 Tacoma didnt have any issues braking with the old BFG AT KO2s, and just got a set of the Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws mounted at NTB in the same size as the old ones 265/70 R17. The brakes now pulse badly at low speeds. Slowing down on the highway isnt a big deal- coming to s stop at a light sure is though. They are at 32 PSI.

Took the truck back in- had them check the balance, my rotors, and alignment. They say the tires balanced fine,no warp in my rotors, and the alignment is a bit off on one side but not enough to get the kind of pulsing vibrations at low speeds that I am. They told me the Wildpeaks are snow tires and I shouldnt drive them on pavement and if I get new tires it will be fixed. That sure doesnt sound like it.

Ideas? I read the threads here with people having vibrations with the Wildpeaks at higher speeds, but mine are fine accelerating and driving highways speeds. Its just not till the 30mph down they get bad and get worse the closer I am to stopping and only when Im braking.....

The Falkens are meant to be driven year round, are your wheels torqued properly? Also any tire shop that says you should only drive Falkens on snow is on crack, good chance they don't know how to balance a tire.

Ill have to check the torque tomorrow myself. They pulled the wheels off today and checked the balance so if the torque is off they made the same mistake again and got the balance wrong again. But yeah- the snow tire comment really lost some points with me so hard to know what info they gave me is bad or not.

Well lugs were definitely overtorqued by shop. No idea what they were at but took more effort with my breaker bar than it should to pop a few. Put them at 83lbs and my pedal vibration is maybe 30% better. From 'oh crap this really isnt right' bad downgraded to 'thats really annoying' bad. Thats good as was going to pull my ABS fuse next to see if that helped. The ABS went off turning at low speed in the rain a few months ago when they shouldnt. Never done it before or since but got me thinking it could be related. Now I dont think so.

Just have to figure out how to knock them rest of the vibration back. Changing the brake pads and flushing the lines next week- see what I see then.

Might want to check the studs for damage.

If you can put it on jackstands on all 4 in 4x4 drive, look at things spinning see if anything is obviously wiggling.
