I am looking to purchase a cap for 2021 Tacoma. Plan to use
primarily for camping and living/storage space for over-landing trips. Have been looking at LEER. Wondering if anyone could recommend models (or makes other than Leer) and features/options that would be a good fit for my intended use.

Snugtop seems to be very well made, avoid century shells. Glass seems thinner and doesnt fit quite as well.

I purchased an RSI Smartcap EVO Sport. It is currently back-ordered and will ship early to mid March but after doing my research I won't put a fiberglass top on my new truck. I had a Leer fiberglass one on my 04 F-250 FX4 and the way the RSI is built and the options it has means I'll probably put one on my next Ram 1500 too.

Snugtop or Leer, top of the line models, depending on your wanted features, cost is $3200.00 +/-.

RSI is a few Benji's more for theirs (base)
I never seen anything (cost wise) additional for the long bed model..

    Personally, I like RSI.
The additions, I would likely not bite on.

IMO, Fiberglass tops have always been "production". Old school. For an Asphalt rig, OK.
For off road, I don't think they would fair too well, if you are an avid overlander.

Strictly my observations, having had both Leer, and Snugtop shells on my vehicles.

What is the weight compared to fiberglass? I don't mind adding a bit of weight to a Tacoma, but not too much. For a fill size it wouldn't matter.

The RSI weighs in around 160ish pounds from what I read.

Fiberglass ones are slightly heavier, depends on brand.

I would wager a bet the RSI brand, does sweat (collect moisture) inside, moreso than a fiberglass built would.

it has a rooftop positive pressure vent which should help with that. It is unlined so that is a potential issue but where I live in San Diego I'm not really concerned. In high humidity or much colder environments that might be an issue.
