Well I mean, same could be said for a place like Moab, there’s not tons, but they’re there. Specially in the winter.

Coyotes aren’t gonna mess with you, neither will a lion, both will eat your pets.

Yeah I've never been worried about mountain lions on any hike I've been on. I know cats well enough to know that they don't want to be seen 90% of the time. I'm sure the wild ones are even more like that. I did see one for the first time a year or so ago, offroading on Miller Jeep trail actually (@Kwikvette )...was leading the group and came around a corner on the trail, saw a cat with a tail like 6ft long jump across and into the brush.

Snakes are the one thing I'm constantly wary of if hiking or wheeling and taking a break on foot

I just don’t understand it, CO and WY banned hunting bears with dogs. Now when there’s an area with a population too big they hire an outfitter, set some boundaries and pay them to kill everything they put in a tree within a certain time period.

Instead of having people pay the DWR for tags and towns for hotels and other supplies.

    Makes a bunch of sense.

Surprised you didn't see any in Santa Cruz considering you and your wife used to come out for Christmas?

Tons of signs with warnings of mountain lions out there, specifically all the hiking trails SC has to offer which are a lot.

    Nope didn't see any there

We had signs for them up near the college I went to out here too, which was funny because over half the student body was from abroad (Japan/China mostly) and the idea of there being wild animal predators lurking around the school freaked them the hell out lol.

Camp Pendleton has a ton of rattlers, FUCK THAT NOISE.

I actually saw one right in the walkway just outside the laundromat while on base.

Was doing laundry one night, and being that it was warm, meant board shorts and flip flops.

Walk up to check on my clothes only to see and hear a Western Diamondback coil up and watch me as I walked around the fucker.

You get bit, its a good 35 minutes before you even reach mainside hospital.

In the town I used to live in in tx they had an annual rattlesnake roundup to cull the population. They brought in 15-25,000 pounds of snakes every year.

I'm getting these ads on Pandora lately about military recruitment and they're in Spanish lol. I think I'm a little over the age bracket for recruitment and I dunno why they are in Spanish

I keep getting Spanish ads and it’s pissing me off. Mostly because I don’t want ads to begin with

I don't pay for the premium ad free service so I expect the ads, but they need to target them a little better lol.

I snapped that photo while I was running to my other work quick, but there were SO many crows, an equal amount on the right of the truck as well as in the trees and actively flying. I don't think I've ever seen a murder that large
