    Hello Tacoma World! New member here...

    We have a 2001 Tacoma with 220K+ miles, but well-cared for. Working on a makeover to use as an overlanding rig. Nothing too gnarly for off-road trails. Just wanting to get further out than just the regular campgrounds, or use as a base camp for backpacking trips.

    We are looking forward to browsing the forums for information, and getting input and recommendations from you all.

    Our first phase is done... 3" suspension lift and new tires. Before we move forward with the next phases, we are weighing how much to spend on a high-mileage vehicle for upgrades (protection, recovery gear, storage, shelter). We love the 1st Gen Tacomas, and we hope we can still get another 100K miles from ours, with the proper care and maintenance. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated!

    Take care of her and she'll give you more than another 100k! I would suggest to plan on your recovery gear first because quite frankly, it was a lesson I almost had to learn the hard way, you have to be able to help someone help you if needed. We look forward to seeing your adventures!
