@Shveet I put the Icon 3leaf aal in in the summer I don't really wheel like some people here but i have fun occasionally and mostly just haul a dirt bike or 2 around on weekends if i was to do it again i'd get a full leaf pack.

You better off measuring your driveline angles after you put in the lift then determine IF you need to add any shims at all.

Tacoma's sometimes respond better to pinion/axle shims before dropping the carrier bearing.
(Mark the carrier bearing so you put it back in the same spot if you do mess with it)

General rule of thumb is 1deg of axle shim per inch of lift.

You may find that your factory leaf packs have a 1-2 deg shim in them.

I alot of people don't need to use shims if they go with a full leaf pack (I didn't with my RXT pack and it was just under 2")

Slotted pinion shims are easy to install after the leaf pack is already in...

My 1st GEN tundra had a great stock Toyota battery… I replaced it with a Canadian Tire battery at 9 years old just as a precaution.

My V6 RAV4 is a 2012 and still running on the stock battery. I had my Toyota dealer load test it on my last service and they said it was fine. I do all my own service on my taco and put a mid range Canadian tire group 24 in it many years ago and it’s a good battery.

So my experience is that stock Toyota batteries are high-quality however my tundra and my RAV4 were/are very low mileage vehicles.

Extreme heat like Texas kills batteries and extreme cold like northern Ontario or Winnipeg would obviously lower the life as well.

I totally agree with you on that statement regarding five years.

I was quite surprised that stock Toyota batteries are great with my experiences

AAL is less work IMO, since the stock leaf pack stays in the truck. Unscrewing the center pin is easier than unbolting the 100-lb leaf pack from the frame. As you expect AALs are potentially stiffer than replacement leaf packs depending on which brand you go with.

Icon leaf packs come with rubber bushings bonded in. OME leaf packs come with urethane bushings packaged separately if I remember correctly with @Snail81's build - you just grease them up and press them in with carpenter clamps, channel-locks, whatever.

With a replacement leaf pack, there's also small stuff like drilling a hole on the retainer to bolt in the E-brake cable bracket.
I'm lifted full 4 inches in the rear and haven't needed any shims or carrier bearing drop. :notsure: You can always add those later if needed.

Your memory serves you well. Mine came in by hand after greasing.

You have no vibrations as well as @daks (now that's funny AH). My assumption is it's because you run high shelf leaf packs. It might be caused by the way they are designed.
