I am intending to use a hidden winch mount on my 2019 Tacoma.

I've found 3 candidates. Any experience with any of these or are there other manufacturers I should look at?

sdhq offroad $550 - top photo below

CBI Offroad hidden winch mount $400 - bottom photo

Bulldog hidden winch mount - $290 - middle photo

I tried to add links but my message continued to be erased when I tried to get the links. I'll take screen shots of each and try to add them.

I keep looking at the SDHQ, but I have to wonder if those bolt on recovery points are burly enough. Anyone done kinetic recoveries on one? Did it hold up?

I had the same question about the mounting strength but when I looked at the bigger, full size bumpers they utilize the same mounting points - Of the other styles, I've watched a number of installation videos and don't see a difference in how they attach to the front frame. I do like the Victory 4x4 Blitz at $699 but I'm trying to keep my budget in mind.

Appears that Pelfrey hidden winch mount may be a thing of the past - can't find a listing. I will inquire if these frame brackets will work with either the SDHQ or CBI - a good tip!

They're not recommended for the CBI, major cutting involved. Not sure on the SDHQ, you could read through the thread, a lot of great info.

Wow, I had wondered about the mounting method. Glad you brought these added supports to my attention, now to figure out if they work with any of the hidden winch mounts. - a question toward the end of that thread asked about the SQHD but there was no reply. Think I'll email Bayareametalfab directly with a photo of the SQHD. Earlier in the thread it ruled out the CBI Hidden Winch Mount. The Bulldog doesn't look as impressive as the SQHD. And I'm glad you also brought that thread to my attention.

After a second look at the SDHQ and the two others, I wouldn't trust those for recovery. It bolts together in pieces, not many welds at all and the two braces underneath really don't do anything.

The Victory is not much more and actually a bumper and fully welded.

Having just installed a 10K winch on my truck -- I'd be suspicious of the security of how the winch itself is going to mount. Plus as previous people said, where are the recovery points and hook mount to? Spooling my winch under load for the first time last weekend was an adventure given that I needed to have good viability of the spool, and how it was spooling -- so these hidden ones I'd be concerned about being able to monitor the health and binding of the cable.
