Do they enforce parking with license plate scanner on your campus? If so... weather permitting, I have taken to a light coating of grape koolaid sprayed on the plate. Several coats and it’s iced over and dark and... so far... not registered by the parking enforcement. Plus it’s too cold for them to get out of their cars and check so I parked free 3 days this week.

I picked up a pair of armored riding jeans for $45 last night. They are pre-owned but in mint condition, and retail for $130 or so.
    I can’t wait for spring!

52F and I've decided that I should've been wearing my winter gloves

Truth! I always get caught when the weather starts cooling and have to re-learn the lesson that wind chill is a real thing...

Why not just keep a second set of gloves in that top box? My right side saddlebag always has rain pants, jacket liner, gloves, and a hat in it. I got one of those small compression sacks like hikers might use. Stuff everything in it and cinch it down it doesn't even take up much space. I also snagged a couple of pairs of disposable Nitrile gloves from work and have them under my seat for roadside emergencies but if it gets too cold they're thin enough to wear inside normal gloves but act as a wind blocker in a pinch.

that's a damn good idea. the only thing in there is a tire pressure guage. I use the top box for my bag when i commute (which i haven't done in forever). or for locking my helmet in then i'm out. no reason why i cant keep my extra gloves in there!

Sometimes the obvious answer is the hardest one to figure out. Not sure if your bike has any under seat storage but I use the crap out of what space I have under mine. Tire plug kit, mini air compressor, tire gauge, small and medium zip ties, nitrile gloves, a couple of rags cut from old t-shirts, a small roll of electrical tape, some band aids, spare tail light bulb, and some fuses.

Trying to fit everything I "want" to take with me has made me much better at packing logistics! My under seat is packed with flat repair and 1st Aid gear. My tail bag is usually snacks/water and then filled with "mission dependent" items. Before my wife got me the tail bag (thanks, honey!), I'd use a backpack but it was not fun having it catch the wind at extra legal speeds or wearing it on hot days.

Man, I don't know what is up with this off-season but any bike that isn't a cruiser in my area seems to vary between moderately to waaaay over priced.

Was trying to contact a guy who has a Benelli TNT 135 posted in 4 different localities for a fair price but... two emails with no response...

Yeah, it’s crazy how many people are out of work but prices of houses, cars and toys keep going up.

I am tempted to buy it to have another one. The more I think about a older Honda the more I like the Grom. It’s fun to just hop on and take it for a spin and not having to worry about it breaking down on me.
