My 2020 has 7,500 miles and is 10 months old. At what mileage point does the MPG improve to "normal".
    Thanks

So many variables...I see most consistent MPG numbers in the Spring and Summer. No noticeable improvement as the truck gets higher in mileage.

And don't drive like an a-hole, that improves mileage too.

When temps were above 60f i got my best fuel mileage. Now its below freezing most of the day, not so much...2-3 mpg lower.

Mine seems to be getting better the more i drive it. Started out 17.1 and now with a little over 1K in the low 20's. It will all depend on your driving style.

Thanks for the info. I also lost 2-3 mpg when it got below 32, didn't expect that much.

Warming up the truck for 10 minutes helps. But I average 21-24 in the summer at 70 MPH and 17-20 in the winter on the same road.

Just remember: the vast majority of the wear comes when the engine is cold. Winter fuel and different fuel mapping to help with colder temps makes a difference.

I believe you are trying to hit a moving target in that respect as there's too many variables to determine what's 'normal' MPG for any given stretch of time.
Just enjoy your Tacoma and don't worry about whether it's getting 17 or 18 MPG.

I broke mine in with a cross country highway trip. Mileage improved after 1000 miles, and slightly improved to 2000 miles, then has been pretty consistent since. I think you’re past whatever point it might be.

Mpg is based on time of year, weather wind, your driving habits and so on. Too many keep blaming the vehicles for less than rated MPG especially during the winter instead doing 10 minutes of research to understand what effects your mpg.

Big thing is, if you live in the city stop driving like an asshat, mpgs go way up. If you live where there are lots of hills or always windy, your never going to get "rated" average or combined.

I don't buy vehicles expecting mileage to improve and I don't expect it to get advertised mileage either. If I can't afford to operate the vehicle slightly below the advertised City,,,, it's the wrong vehicle for me. We've known for years,,, decades the rated mileage from factory is always best case scenario.

    I totally agree!
Life's much too short to be worrying about whether a vehicle is getting a mile or two gallons either way. If you are satisfied with how your vehicle looks and more importantly how it runs you are ahead of the game.

What kind of driving for you do? What's the terrain like? How much idling do you do? Do you let it warm up? Remote start? Tire pressures? Lift/tire size? Also, where do you live and how cold is it? Winter gas can be a real pain.
