Grilled steak for the son and I after work yesterday before it started to get cold. Was -10

Love bacon. I don't use a press often and normally only for Canadian bacon.



I cure and make bacon every couple of months. Cut a belly in half and do a different cure for each half.



Normally just cook it in a cast iron pan(s) cut to fit



During the summer often use a griddle on the gasser for bacon and eggs. Then screens over the over half for toasting bread. And have some bacon with my bacon and eggs on toast LOL.





For weekend get togethers at larger shoots I have a 50 pound high wall cast iron griddle everyone asks me to bring. And tell them sure, as long as they bring the bacon.



My favorite BLT starts with first cure a belly. Cube it and rub it down



Smoke until a good bark forms then into a pan with brown sugar, honey and butter.



Cover and braise for a couple hours then some sauce at the end. Makes great BLT sandwiches.



Great now I need to go cook some bacon LOL.

So sorry to read of this and sounds a LOT like my primary care physician. Agree it doesn't make sense but happens way too often. Condolences to you and your wife, and his family.

Snow Patrol done, blew out some nice runways for the dog. It’s hard to take care of business in a foot of snow. Waiting on a delivery from Ikea , a gift for my daughter. I’m curious how this “dresser kit” will go together , or not.

OK you are in with me, good one LOL. You even used the right chainsaw. Bar looks a little short on it though LOL. Don't ever tell anyone but I have been moving to battery operated saws for the most part. They have a lot of torque and are a lot quieter. And start on the first pull, erh push of the button. But have so much torque they cut through leg chaps much quicker than your standard logging chaps.
