I actually bought mine used CPO with 5K miles and got a good deal so I’m not really complaining. But after 5 years and 75K more miles, the only thing I wish was different is the JBL system. It’s still not great audio, and the subwoofer really cuts the behind-seat storage for recovery gear, tools etc. Oh, and sometimes I wish I had the 6 speed MT instead of the AT, but offroad I do prefer the AT.

For me, I bought nerf bars and quickly learned they take away 2-3" of clearance when off-roading. I jumped at the chance for some real sliders when an affordable opportunity came up.

Fluid Film is something you apply if you hate working on your own vehicle. It stays wet and attracts dirt which makes for fun times when doing maint. It also comes with a warning about rubber parts

I recommend just using 3M cavity wax, it coats the same and dries. There's also a wand kit to spray into cavities like boxed frame rails, inside doors, rocker panels etc. It also doesn't smell like asshole. Fluid Film smells like asshole

That is great advice and may prolong the rust but rust is still a fact of life here and you try to avioid the vehicles that are more rust prone.
I have rust proofed cars before and it doesn't really matter around here. In some cases the rustproofing traps the salt. I had to let my last 2 vehicles go because the frame and unibody's were gone inspite of the rust proofing. The one was a 87 Mazda B2200 and the other was a 05 Corolla. I keep my cars a long time.
A lot of people around here oil spray their cars and what a mess that makes with the dripping and over spray all over everything.
I also laugh at all the plastic the manufacturers are putting on the lower panels of new cars and trucks. What are they hiding? It sucks when you pay $30000 for a vehicle that starts rusting in a few years so they hide the inevitable.

Its a similar issue with me with getting the predator step bars on my truck. They are fine in the summer, but seem to collect slush, and ice during the winter here.

I think he regretted the pretzel step in the back, but it was like a game to find it

Nope, don't have any regrets so to show new Tacoma owners what's out there to perhaps help better their Tacoma experience.

Biggest mod regret was prob buying a new camper shell for a 5 foot bed.

shoulda got a ACLB, then the shell woulda made sense

My main reason for it is that I've been 'tapped' lightly twice (just enough to scar up my rear bumper) wailing at the drive-tru lane in my '96 Tacoma by teen-agers texting and not paying attention.
So I wanted to protect my '18 bumper from that.

And I don't think it's looks too bad. Looks more utilitarian to me.

I think my biggest regret was not buying an SPod or something similar to help with wiring earlier in my build. I also regret waiting so long for OVTune. I probably should have done that a lot earlier in the building process.

Oh I totally get it and why its there. I typically use a hitch on mine and yours offers way more protection
