At my previous job for an electrical engineering, a manufacturer wanted to set up a new production line so we went to document their existing panel loads, breakers, wire size and run distances. In taking the covers off of the panels, most of them had 4" of saw dist in them. Our report to them noted this and we suggested they clean them regularly.

They said they did every 6 months.

While sawdust and static are a problem, the air volume most home workshops deal with don’t rise to the dangerous levels needed for combustion. We’re talking more production shop levels. There was some science done on that several years ago.

Also, that grounding wire for PVC pipe also went by the myth wayside, as the surface area it benefits is very low compared to the surface area of the pipe. You’d basically need five or six different stands of wire wrapped around the PVC to be of benefit.

Dust fires tend to be more of a metal object accidentally sucked up and hitting the impellers, or dust settling on electronics like mentioned above. Much higher risk for other sources like drying finish rags. Those things can put off some serious heat and spontaneously combust.

Those actually work well for cutting cakes. It would be a nice extra to go along with one of your infamous cutting boards.

I made one a long, long time ago and the last time I saw it, there was no warp. As long as it is just wiped off with soap and water, it should be fine. I used spray can lacquer to seal it.

I would only be able to tell you to use the same colors the interior designer used for my house when it was built.

I am not allowed to give an opinion other than head to your local paint store and grab some of their free catalogs. It’ll give you some ideas and you can narrow the search very fast that way
