Been hunting seriously for 2-3 years and finally was able to get not one, but two deer! One muley doe and one whitetail doe. Muley was a 20yrd shot, lung and a little far back on a hard quartering away treestand shot. Ran 20 yards and dropped. She came from D16 in CA. The Whitetail came from Missouri on the last two days of their archery season. Last shooting light, 3x3 buck came in but not legal. Big doe gave me a beautiful broadside 40 yard shot. She ran 30 yards and folded up. Both complete pass through shots. Completely floored with how 2020 season ended for me. Especially since I missed a rifle buck this year. On top of that I had my entire bow setup stolen from my truck the night before a hunt. Just couldn’t catch a break until finally I did.

They don’t make it easy for us out here. Especially for a Virginia boy stuck behind enemy lines.

    Nice harvest!

I gave up hunting after leaving Montana. Tried a three years here in Colorado but all you ever seen once the sun came up was orange.

I have been keeping CO on the radar for an OTC elk tag but there’s only so much e-scouting you can do without putting boots on the ground and learning the terrain. Maybe you’ll get back into it and find some luck!

Probably won’t get back into hunting unless totally necessary. Last two years we were in a Army Arctic tent, below zero, wind blowing like hell. Hiking in knee high snow was fun. Coolest thing is we had a mountain Lion tracking us. We backtracked and seen snake like marks in the snow. Looked in our tracks and sure as shit a mountain Lion paw prints.

We kept on running into several bull moose the last trip (4). That was interesting.

Was really concerned when I saw the title that you got your deer courtesy of your, ah, bumper. Glad you got them hunting and not on the trip to the stand.
