i think Peace trail would be your best bet, if theres any more rain in that area there isnt any crazy mud to deal with

lefty, the boulder your remembering mighta been Cherry Creek?

Yes, I ran into that boulder last year.

Not fun. But that's on the 'Expert' section of the AZBDR north of Lake Roosevelt past the 'Devil's Chasm'.

    Danny,

Both Dateland and the place we left off last year at Lake Roosevelt are within 40 minutes drive (time wise from my house, not location to location) of each other so I can start over there in Dateland with ease.

I've wanted to do the Peace Trail for years now, so I say let's do it.

I'll bring a sledgehammer. Guess we will have to beat it into submission to clear the path.

Or rig up somewinches to move it.

The Peace trail seems like a cool idea. Like a back country old mines and ghost town type tour.

BTW, coworker was in Kingman for work yesterday. Says most snow is gone, patches here and there on some peaks. So, unless we get another storm. Should be pretty clear. Maybe a lil muddy.

Yea it looks like that boulder is on the section from Kingman to Wikieup, which we’ll be avoiding anyways for snow concerns. I saw another video specifically saying it’s section 5. Staying away from the route I layed out :).

My only concern with the AZ Peace Trail, going purely off of the information that I've seen here, is that the vehicles they show tackling it are SxS', ATV's and 2-door Jeeps. There were a few sections where the trail looks awfully tight as well. I might sit the run out and tackle the BDR run later this year.

I hear the concerns for sure. But that’s why I picked a route done by the 4 door Grand Cherokee. I think section 1-5 or south of quartzite are your areas of concern, which we’ll be staying away from.

If it eases anyone, Lite Brite on youtube did much of the trail in their gladiator. They’re the ones mentioning the Boulder on section 5 which we won’t be going on.

So after talking to several people, it looks like many can make the weekend of April 23-26. That will also maximize the time for them to open up Rim Rd and end the lockdown in the Navajo Nation. When I called the ranger station they said that they typically reopen sometime "between" March and April. So late April is a safe estimate. Anyways; I'm going to update the list as confirmed with those who have confirmed with me that date and move everyone else to "maybe." Please either message me or post here if you're confirmed for that April weekend for the north half of AZBDR.

Was determined to go out this weekend. Went out to Sycamore Creek area with a neighbor in a Jeep and the fam. Don't worry, I'll have real tires and won't be stock by the time of the trip. Just gotta make sure I'm not on call.
