VF tune help

hi all new to the forums. I recently purchase the VF tune kit got it went though all the process registration. I do not have a tune files to flash my 16 TRD sport AT. I have 5 credit but when I click on download in the tune nothing comes up just empty. I know currently VF website are doing update and its down. anyone in the same boat as me? just have to wait until they open back up? or im just missing something ? anyone can help me be really appreciated.

 

Follow the directions on the VFtuner website.

Basically you need to get your registration key from ovtune via emailing them. Then get your ecu id, which you should do the TSBs to update to 04B04 (if auto) or 04B014 (if manual) - google "tacomaworld ecu tsb" and find the thread by tonered.

Once you have that done, email OVtune and request the tune pack for the appropriate ecu ID, assuming you paid the $390 for the tune pack.

yes got the tune kit for $390 and I already did all that. emailed and got it reply 04b00 is my ECU ID. I try to get my tsb done at my local dealer they wont do it unless they find something wrong with it which they say they didn't. I download techstream but I can get that unlock either need new key.

 

Hang in there. You’re close. You’ll get instructions soon on how to get past the techstream initialization.

 

Did you follow shellshocks install directions exactly? There shouldnt be any issues using techstream.

If you already requested the tune pack for 04B00 that is what they will send you via zip folder in an email. It might take a couple of days though.

 

Welcome to the forum. Here is a link to the ECU TSB stuff, click on so of the spoiler stuff to help you out. Make sure you update your ECU to latest TSB before unlocking your ECU BECAUSE what ever ECU you unlock is what tunes you get!

yes I fellow shellshocks instruction but I saw the post date was like 2 years ago. the key I got didn't work. as I just complete the registration process with VF a day ago. guess I just have to wait for the email from VF.

 

Yes...once you send them the system ID they will send you what you need to move on. Use this time update your ECU (if you want) because what ever ECU you unlock is what you get.

 

If you are 04b00 I HIGHLY recommend you apply the TSB to update to 04b04. It’s easier to do yourself than waste time arguing with the dealer. 04b00 is one of the original calibrations, 04b04 far better. Add the tune and you won’t even believe it’s the same truck.

You may want to search from someone locally to help you with this. There is a lot of info in the threads you’ve been linked to. If you’re not comfortable at this point I’d recommend you seek out local assistance. Where are you located?

 

ok I just download the files for ECU update. IM located in central NJ.

 

update I just figured out and did the update to my ECU from o4b00 to 04b04. if anyone are in the same boat need to do this in my area happy to help just let me know. thanks for everyone pitch in and help on here.
