Yeah parked beside my truck while I was in the store, walked back to the truck in the pitch black. Got in. Turned the wheel and ran it over directly across the hood. Not another car in sight. No idea why the guy parked it right beside me in an empty parking lot. But yeah paid for that one.

I actually smashed the tailgate on my 2017 Silverado on a tree in 2019, my rates didn’t go up It was 4800$ to replace the tailgate and it came under the comprehensive part of my plan I was found not at fault because of the way the tree was shaped. So maybe that’s why my rates didn’t go up because it was a not at fault claim?

Side note: I sold the Silverado to a military gentleman because that hunk of junk was in the shop 68 days out of the 1 year I owned it. 7CE14427-FF72-4917-8069-DDAC2E70C541.jpg

Yea I first fought the idea that it was a collision but i finally gave in... then when my rates rose up i called and bitched about how this should be part of my accident forgiveness and they were like you didn’t pay for that you just have a basic policy

It also could’ve grew legs and walked away, as Tacoma tailgates seem to be targeted

So i did some online quotes so far in Cali. Anywhere from 121- 169 a month for the exact same coverage. The 169 was from AAA. I'll stick with my State farm for now

NO. Liability covers you so that you do not get sued by anyone if you are at fault. It will fix their vehicle and not yours. Collison is what will repair or pay off your truck if you are at fault. Comprehension is when your vehicle is damaged due to weather, vandalism, or theft.

That’s what I thought, just sounded like his liability plan for some reason also covered damage of his truck

This is why you hate Boomers like me. Wife and I insured 6 cars with full coverage, 1000 dollar deductible. We got corporate discounts because she worked for Met Life and I worked for an airline. All in we paid about 1200 dollars a year. Being a Boomer in your 60s gainfully employed married for decades, solid gets you the keys to the kingdom. It also helps to live in one of the safest cities in America with low crime rates. Don’t you just hate it? Then we retired with pensions and it got even better as we sold half the fleet of cars. Gen x etc look up pensions with benefits. You got fucked.

Here's my story...hold on. Round numbers b/c I don't have the paperwork with me.
Farm Bureau of Louisiana. We have been with them for 26 years. Married for 25 years. Gainfully employed. Never had a DUI.

$9000 a year for 4 vehicles. Full coverage, $300K/$500K liability, $500 deductible, $0 for glass, No towing, medical or uninsured motorist. $1M Umbrella
    2019 Tacoma - $1400 - Mine (51y.o.)
    2019 Honda Pilot - $1400 - Wife (51y.o.)
    2015 Hyundai Veloster - $3400 - Daughter (22y.o.) Considered a sports car, LOL
2013- Honda Civic Sport Coupe - $2800 - Daughter (18y.o.) Considered a sports car after we owned it for a year, double LOL.

No accidents, no speeding tickets, 1 windshield repair (not replacement)
My area has the 2nd to highest rates in Louisiana due to DUIs.

Nope on the help. I'm the sole provider. My wife takes care of the household, family, pets, & relatives. My oldest girl is in graduate school and the youngest will finish high school in May. I made a deal with them that I will pay for it as long as they are in school and making A's & B's. I told them that their job is to get good grades. As soon as they get in an accident, speeding tickets, or poor grades, that the insurance would be on them. I prefer them to concentrate on education instead of work at this time.

My fiancé and I pay $126 a month between our 2 vehicles, my ‘06 Tacoma and her ‘13 Hyundai Accent.

Despite my not so great driving record (SR22 insurance) due to severe lack of judgement on my part a few years back, I pay less per month than she does which has always confused me.
