    Hi,
please don't tell me to search, I did, and I'm not satisfied with what I found. I know 2nd and 3rd gen are essentially the same and normal wheels interchange from one to another with no problem.

My question is related to TIGHT fit aftermarket wheels. Is there any difference in the brake configuration or wheel mount surface distance that could make a wheel that was very close to rub caliper on a second gen to not fit on a third gen or vice versa.

    Thanks a lot

Not sure, but you could compare part numbers for things like the brake caliper, spindle/knuckle, etc and see if there is actually any difference. If you find different part numbers, then go down the road of what changed and how much.

Good point, I will. It will gives a heads up on difference but sometimes, part numbers are not the same for other reasons than physical dimensions. But for sure P/N that are the same will similar in every aspects.

But because the 3rd gen are out there for something like 6 years now I'm pretty sure the definitive answer on that already exists.

Agreed on both points, good luck sifting through all the diarrhea on this forum, and possibly soon to be in this thread, to find that answer. You will get some who might say it's identical, but offer no details or supporting data. So in the end either find out for yourself or wait/hope/trust the internet?

Man, what you said is like reading in my mind really. Thanks for your compassion/support. Forums are not what they were anymore! If it was for a single wheel set that could be a trial error thing, but I have to order a truck load so a mistake could let me stuck with a lot of wheels. I will probably start by one single set then find a third gen to try it as I already have a second gen.
