I have a 2010 2.7 MT. I do my own oil and filter as well (Penzoil conventional high mileage) https://www.amazon.com/Pennzoil-550045205-quart-10W-30-Mileage/dp/B01M2YU3FH
Anywho...ONLY Put in 5.5 or just shy of that. I've never put in more than that...Once I only put 5 in because I ran out of my spare 5 for topping off...and It was fine on the dip stick...

Oh and get a fumoto...It's heaven!

God damn I was asking if other people notice that the manual isn’t accurate or if it’s just my engine. I know how to change oil and do maintenance, I don’t need boomer bullshit especially when you’re all so quick to quote the manual on everything else

    Boomer bullshit? LOL

The owners manual is just fine.

6.1 US Quarts with a filter. You are over thinking it. It's your truck do as You Wish.

If you didn't want opinions why ask.

I don’t know what boomer bullshit is but what does it matter? My manual could say add 15 quarts of oil but I’m still going to do my oil change the same way I always have. Take the old shit out replace filter fill it back up run the engine for a minute too it off and done. I don’t understand why sometimes people wanna make it so complicated. The dip stick is there for a reason use it.

    Wow.....easily triggered.

The "boomer bullshit" is most likely based on experience, knowledge and thinking. Age, has little to do with a person's experience, knowledge.

Many of people in today's modern society can't find their way out of a toilet stall without the internet and their cell phone. Their thinking skills are declining.

FWIW, the engineer's who designed the engine spend much time defining oil, oil viscosity, quantity, considering tolerance of all the manufactured parts, writing the manual, checking the manual............the process is very detailed.

Yes, your oil dipstick may be a little long, the oil pan maybe a little shallow pushing the indicated level over the "full" line. It is highly unlikely that you have the only manual from the 1000's printed with an error. ALL of the OMs would have the same error.

Most members on this forum try to offer help or tips or techniques to pass on their experience and knowledge. If you don't want this help, then suggest for you to not ask for help.

If you just want an answer to your original question,
Then, NO. I have not had that happen.

Ok. Now, feel free to blast away.

Honey hush, don’t get all pissy. You’ve been here two years and still the older boys are taking advantage of you? You’ve gotten some good advice, they covered your questions and then some. You’ve got balls getting on people’s cases for trying to help you. This boomer likes fellas that get flustered easily, I like you.

On my 4.0 the manual calls for 5.5 but it’s actually full with just 5.

At least we know how to change the oil and filter without using the Interwebz.
