Where you getting the skid from? And yeah, get rid of the dam. Just run the skid. I like the look of it as well

So did you ever figure out where to get the extra bolts? Or spacers? I've been looking and no luck.

Soooni took off the member braces when 8 installed mine... any reason I should’ve left them on?

I know this is an older post but thanks for posting the question and your responses. It help me out on my install. You would think that the bolts that go under for support in the vehicle would be tighten down a lot more than what they say to tighten them to.

Ha you don't need to cut the tow hook off. Whoever told you that is wrong. THey spec the skid plate for Pro's & OR's because you don't have to remove the stock Sport & SR5 air dam from them.

You should leave them on, or I guess put them back on in your case. Two reasons

1st - a Toyota structural engineer designed them to be installed there for a reason. This reason was then vetted by a small army of Toyota engineers and this design concept made it into the final design because it had a valid reason for being there. If Toyota could cut costs by removing it from the design, it wouldn't be there. Trust the experts & trust the fact they won't spend extra money if they don't have to.

2nd - I've offroaded pretty extensively and, at one point, my truck got caught on a rock coming down a hill. Those diagonal member braces acted like sliders and kept the rock I was caught on from catching on the ladder frame and my exhaust pipe. Instead of sustaining serious damage to the underside of my truck, my truck slid off to the side and no harm was done save a gnarly scratch to the "slider rail"

I'm not exactly sure why those "slider rails" are there, but looking at how they angle away from the exhaust pipe and frame, I'm guessing it has something to do with protecting your truck from getting hung up on a rock. Not to say it couldn't still happen, but it worked in my case. $0.02 of experience, of course.

Skid plate is on my 2020, however my air dam won’t go back on. Has anybody cut the center out of their air dam and put the left and right panels back on? If not, is there anybody who sells them after market. I kind of like the way the dam looks.
