    Hi I just joined the forum. I am planning to buy a used 17 Taco with manual 6spd. I’m a bit nervous about all this. please check the photos and let me know if I should be concerned about the rust on undercarriage. Also I’d like to make sure it has tow package: since it is a manual transmission Tacoma, i guess it doesn’t have transmission fluid cooler: anyone know how I can be certain that it comes with Tow Package?? Thank you!

    I had a 13 manual with tow package. Mine, at least, had a higher output alternator, an oil cooler (I think under the oil filter, and the factory receiver/wiring for trailer lights. I wonder if there’s a way to search the VIN to find out.

    That is just a little bit of surface rust, not an issue at all. The tow package on a ‘17 would include the extra tranny cooler (looks like a tiny radiator in front of the radiator) and of course the heavy duty receiver hitch assembly bolted to the frame.
