When the headlights are turned on prior to getting dark outside, the radio dims for night mode making it impossible to see. Is it possible to change a setting, leaving the radio display on rather than dimming? Adjusting brightness of the main display doesn't effect the radio display. I've had the map display stay on bright mode with headlights once. No clue how I activated or deactivated this effect/feature. It may have been a glitch.

If you go to menu, settings, then look at the bottom right area there is a small icon for display settings. You can adjust the display brightness there. Also, somewhere there is a setting for night mode on/off I think.

There is a light sensor on your dash passenger side. Make sure you don't accidentally cover it with something.

    Hope some of that helps.

The small icon for display goes to settings, but no option for day/night mode. I'll need to check the sensor. The dealer has a sticker in the corner. Perhaps that is causing an issue. Thank you. The adjustment settings would require both day and night mode be set?

With auto headlights, I've noticed at least three "modes" for the light system based on outside ambient light levels:

    1. Bright outside = headlights off, bright radio screen.
    2. Somewhat dim outside = headlights on, bright radio.
    3. Dark outside = headlights on, dim radio.

I think you can have radio screen brightness settings for each separate ambient light "mode".

I also noticed these three ambient light modes affect the brightness of the multi-information display (MID) in the gauge cluster. To my knowledge, when the light system is in the "somewhat dim outside" mode, that is the only time you can adjust the MID brightness for that particular ambient light mode.

I figured that out when it was still kinda bright outside, but I could no longer see my display because it went to a night time brightness level. I adjusted it at that time, and now it acts like I want it to.

On the 19s under display is a "day mode" check box.

    I use it often

The 20s have a different head unit i believe but i would think have the same/similar options
