What’s up everyone, last week I ended up getting given, by an older couple, a turn down mbrp exhaust that was too loud for the previous owners wife. Pretty much what I’ve heard it comes down to for this particular exhaust for our trucks. I figured the least I could do is give it a shot!

I just finished installing my rack and getting my lights wired up so I figured I had some time so I’d throw the exhaust on today.

2x 14mm bolts and a little beating on the hangers and I got my stock exhaust out in about 10 minutes and this “new “ one bolted in.

On the first cold start, this exhaust definitely made my truck rumble. It made the kid in me come out.

I will say after a day on it, considering the weight I’m lugging around, there is a deep rumble, but it’s to be expected with the turn down style. I have the manual transmission and being able to hear the exhaust is assisting in smoother shifting. Everyone once in a while if I take off too fast, it does sound a little ricey, not going to lie, but I cruise everywhere for the most part. overall I like it, I could see where this wouldn’t be for everyone and I will update if it becomes too much for me!

trying to figure out how to upload a video meow.

I have same exact one. Same thoughts and feelings. I love it. Great when you’re wheeling. I have mT also.

I had it for two months. Then I just took it off two weeks ago. Awesome rumble on a cold start, but then it settles after about 2-3 mins. Sounds good in very low speeds but when you rev your engine and go past 2000 RPM it starts a GOD AWFUL drone. It's just bad, I mean bad.

The driving is so uncomfortable on the highway. I wish I could have kept it on, but I do a lot of highway driving and this exhaust drove me mad when I did my regular highway commutes. Shame, I still have it and may one day install it again if I can figure out a way to not get that awful drone.

Btw, that's all concentrated in the cabin. I know the turndown looks great but if you must get the MBRP, try the regular side exhaust. It may not have the same cabin issues the turndown has.
