m y a/c works for days then the light blinks and it stops. Sometimes if I disconnect the battery for a few mins. it will work again. I think my compressor rpm switch is bad, can I change it without discharging the a/c. I already changed the relay. I separated the ac clutch from the cars electrical system and jumped it it does not engage I think the magnetic clutch must be bad. That may be the whole problem if it doesn't engage the magnet disconnected from the car its NG?

I will say IF you apply battery voltage to the AC Clutch and it does not engage then the clutch is defective and needs to be replaced.
