Got opposite issue here. No power = no new or cold water, still have whatever is in the hot water heater and it still runs (till tank runs out anyhow) . Using strictly bottle water since Sunday evening. Heating snow on stove to do dishes. Lol

 

I've been lucky with no perceived loss of power and my cold water lines have been flowing well.

 

Could added a but you didn’t. Mighty neighbourly of you.

If your pipes are in uninsulated space you could use one of these to wrap it.

Looks like its a gas one, make sure pilot is lit. Can look through the sight glass and see if theres a flame/pilot light

Sounds like a frozen pipe somewhere. Hopefully it's somewhere you can get to, might want to try some of the pipe heater tape if you can get ahold of any. We used to use it when I was younger and our heater was oil fed. When it got cold oil would freeze in the lines between the tank and the heater itself. Put that wrap on it, plugged it in and never had the issues again.

 

It was a frozen line. Most of my water lines are exposed in the garage, so I blew hot air with a fan over them and fixed it.

 

I’m sure they panicked as the weather never drops below 35° here

Nice work. Should check Amazon for what I was talking about. Last I looked wasn't real expensive. Could save you from it happening again. The think I worry about is if it freezes and the pipe bursts or something in the tank itself pops.
