We added about 12" of snow here last night. The steps going up to the back yard from the basement look like a slide instead of steps now.

Ya the 12" we got is on top of the 3"-4" we had from the last one. Snow isn't as bad as this stupid cold.

Spent about 15-20 minutes outside yesterday. That was more than enough.
Cold enough it's like it froze inside your sinuses.....

I pay $30-40/ month for gas, so it's no big deal if it goes up.

Last month I paid $75 for electric and $70 for water and trash. I'm pretty light on utility usage.

Yep. Biggest reason for lower costs was creating an upper limit of 67 for the heater and a low limit of 71 for the A/C.

That nearly cut my bill in half.

We usually have ours set for 69 for heat and 71 for A/C. Some days we will adjust up or down depending on how the mood is lol. Our last house we built it and had a lot of insulation and good windows/doors in it so it was pretty solid thermally. I also spent extra and had a really good HVAC system installed. Cost us more up front but the bill savings was great.

We keep our heat at 67-68 and a/c is around 72-73. A few years back I blew in 30” of insulation in the attic then put on a metal roof. Doesn’t take much to keep it warm or cool now.
