i saw that too but when you click on my trucks option at the bottom it adds $92 a more realistic number... although i don't know what the option means and why i would need that instead of just the sensor for 79... any ideas?

so i called URD to see what was up with the options at the bottom of the page... the base price for the o2 sensors is $79 - several trucks take the base model... then it goes up from there. depending on what vehicle you have you may need a different model and thus a higher price so by clicking on your truck number you will be picking the sensor that fits your truck... and maybe pay more

so i think i have the o2 sensor thing figured out... thanks everyone!!!

next issue... "stretched rear left brake cable"
can i just adust the nuts holding the cable to make up for the slack?
has the integrity of the cable been compromised and thus just should replace it?
i have searched for a replacement left rear brake cable but have only found ones labeled "rear" and "rear right" would they fit?

    thanks

I just went out and looked under my 02 extended cab. Assuming the extended and double cabs use the same parts, I can't see anywhere the left and right cables come apart. They're all staked together. If it's the same in yours, maybe there is no left cable, you'd have to buy the entire assembly.

A pic of the setup under your truck might help narrow it down, if possible.

if there is a left and right one don't they have to split at some point?

They do, at a pivot attached by a bracket to the rear axle. It's hard to explain, but there is a pivoted block there, the left cable runs through the block and then is hammered flat at the end to keep it in there. No way the other (brake) end would go through that bracket, so it appears to be non-serviceable.

There is a sheath that runs from a bellcrank beside the fuel tank, that runs to that pivot too, the cable running through that sheath runs through the block and straight to the right wheel.

Don't see any way the cables are replaceable separately, but it might be a whole different setup under your DC than on my extended.

I'm looking at my Haynes right now. It says to replace the entire assembly. Not much help at all. Sorry.

Edit: On the 2X4 (and non prerunner) models the cables can be replaced separately.

    OK, dumb question,

If you set the parking brake, does the cable stay loose?
If it does not move when you put it in gear, do you need to do anything.

    (Step one, verify the squak)
