Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Hi Mat, can you confirm whether the older Flash Manager has a tune file for my 2019 04b33 ECU (TSB Updated from 04B31 - AT), please?

I opened a ZenDesk ticket requesting this last Tuesday (24114). The last file i had was 04B31+-+2.0+EROM+91+-+Shift+Build+19800.

Flash manager is obsolete at this time. No files are available or will be on flash manager.

 

sounds like until the full enchilada is released it would be a good idea to not download anything.

No there’s just a new platform (vf tuner).

get rid of ovtune before fuel pump recall?? any issues with getting recall work done while tuned?

 

Not necessary. There is no ECU update specific with the recall.

send a email with ur order # to ovtune and they send u the tunes

 

I did already, but nothing back yet (week ago), I'll keep waiting for their reply (probably taking a little longer due to upgrade)Thx for the help

 

Is J2534 the latest driver from tactrix we would need to update to?

 

J2534 is just a communication protocol. Just download the driver from the website: https://www.tactrix.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=38&Itemid=61

 

IF you still have issues after updating the drivers, we have it fixed in the new version by using an entirely different commmunication method.
since toyota just likes to BS around with how you have to talk to the ECU

 

Did that, so Im guessing downloading and running that EXE file updates the drivers already on my computer?

 

I would assume so. I haven't done it myself yet, but that's usually how it works.

 

Sounds good, I've updated the driver and I'm still not able to log with VFtuner. I'll just wait for the new software update then. Thanks!

 

@OVTune i placed an order Feb 4th for an upgrade from OVTune to VF and for an extra tuning cable. I have yet to receive the cable or any notification or shipping. Coming up on 2 weeks... it was order 8212. I have also sent several emails with no resolution

 

We are waiting on more cables from our supplier.
