I will convert mine to propane, as Natural gas is not in the area I am moving to right now.

Gotcha. We have a line running through our front yard.

 

My natural gas was not a problem, but the propane will run cleaner.
Generac has a poor Warranty. and most times has NO field service.
I bought my Generator from a Cummins generator dealer here in Atlanta. Very good service and they also have 24 hour field service.

 

I had the same at my old house. it was nice to have the gen set come on automatically and turn off when the power came back on.
It's also to have it on a timer where it will run once a week to cycle and also keep the battery charged.

 

You have experience with Kohler or Champion?

I have serviced several Kohler Gen sets they work very good.
My Generator has a 24 HP Honda engine in it.

I sent a email to my salesman at Ellis equipment to get pricing for Kubota generators this morning.

 

I would like a decent portable to start, so I could keep it for emergencies and get a bigger one for running the house, once I buy one.

I prefer to stay with Kubota as I have been working on the since 1994. All my equipment is Kubota and all very reliable. Have to check on the warranty of a gen set.
